I know I've been a bad blogger, but we've been a bit busy. I'll give you a rundown:
March 3rd we found out we got the house we wanted with a move in date of March 10th. A week away!
March 10th we moved in to discover that the laundry area did not infact fit a normal sized washer and dryer, or even stackable ones.
March 11th we had to have Rescue Rooter out to find out why our water was backing up. He assured us he had taken care of the problem when he left.
March 17th(ish) We finally got our washer hooked up after redoing some of the plumbing. Unfortunately the dryer must be hooked up in the UNATTACHED garage for now.
March 22nd we notice that the water is once again going down slowly. We scratch our heads and wonder if it is the main city sewer.
March 24th, first day we were able to do multiple loads of laundry back to back, unfortunately this causes the water to once again back up, into our bathroom, toilet, and INTO OUT BEDROOM. Rescue Rooter is again called, but they do not respond until March 26th. Which is fine as we had to move stuff out, suck up the water, and turn on multiple fans.
We are assured that whatever work that needs to be done will be done by the end of Monday.
March 26th (monday!)- We are informed that the owners are still processing bids, and this should take until end of the working day on Tue. They have rented us a room for the week at a nice hotel so we can shower.
March 28th - we are assured that someone will be there on Thursday to start and hopefully complete work on the crushed pipe provided it doesn't poor buckets(rain). BTW, It was a crushed pipe running from our house to the city sewer that was causing the back up.
March 29th - Complete! Woohoo! We now have working indoor plumbing! Time to do laundry, run the dishwasher, and shower in a familiar place! Woot.
Now you probably think that is enough water drama right? WRONG!
March 31st
- Hot water valve on washer breaks flooding our bedroom AGAIN!
So here it is,
April 4th, and we are just now starting to really settle in to the house. We have so much organizing to do. Not normal organizing. More like
had to save, and find space for, our stuff from the flood twice organizing. Plus, doing laundry that came over dirty from the old place that simply hasn't gotten a spin in the washing machine yet because of everything else going on!
Sigh...It's going to be a long,
hopefully uncomplicated, month!
